Always verify your actual working schedule with your employer's official rota or scheduling system. Do not rely solely on this calculator for matters that have legal or contractual significance, including but not limited to: shift attendance, overtime claims, bank holiday entitlements, or pay disputes.
2. No warranty on pattern accuracy
We make no guarantee that the shift patterns shown in this calculator are accurate for your specific employer's rota. Even for patterns with established names (such as "2-2-3 Pitman" or "DuPont"), the exact structure — including which team starts on which day, shift start times, and rest day assignments — can vary between employers, sites, and trusts.
If your calendar does not match your actual rota, adjust the anchor date or select a different team designation in the pattern selector. If no pre-set pattern matches, use the custom pattern builder.
3. Pay estimates are gross and approximate
Any pay figures generated by the pay estimator are gross estimates before tax. The following deductions and adjustments are not calculated:
- Income tax (PAYE)
- National Insurance contributions (employee and employer)
- Workplace pension contributions (auto-enrolment or otherwise)
- Student loan repayments
- Any employer-specific deductions
- Overtime rates beyond the standard shift premium
Consult your payslip, HR department, or a qualified tax adviser for accurate net pay figures.
4. Free service
MyShiftCalendar is free to use. All core features — the 12-month calendar, pattern selector, statistics, upcoming shifts list, pay estimator, and .ics export — are provided at no charge. Optional PDF downloads are also free. We reserve the right to introduce premium features in the future, but core functionality will remain free.
5. Acceptable use
By using MyShiftCalendar you agree not to:
- Use this service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, crawlers) to extract data from the site at a rate that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure
- Introduce malicious code or attempt to compromise the security of the service or its users
- Reproduce or distribute the site's content for commercial purposes without written permission
6. Intellectual property
The shift pattern data, calculator logic, user interface design, and written content on MyShiftCalendar are owned by or licensed to MyShiftCalendar. You may use the tool freely for personal planning purposes. You may share links to the site. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the content without attribution and a link back to the original page.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyShiftCalendar, its operators, and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of this service or your reliance on the information provided, including but not limited to:
- Missed shifts or scheduling errors resulting from incorrect pattern configuration
- Pay discrepancies arising from reliance on the pay estimator
- Loss of data stored in your browser's localStorage
- Any technical errors or service interruptions
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, where such limitation is prohibited by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of MyShiftCalendar shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of MyShiftCalendar after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
